Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre

Location: Great Missenden, United Kingdom

Originally established in 2001 the Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre is a registered charity that provides the public with cultural education in the form of art and literature based on the work of Roald Dahl.

To ensure equality for all of the Museums visitors and to adhere to Equality Act of 2010 legislation, in 2011 Feltech Electronics Ltd were given the task of upgrading all of the audio visual equipment for the Solo Gallery in the Museum. With emphasis on enhancing the user’s visit and creating a more interactive experience for tourists it was deemed essential that Ampetronic induction loop systems be installed and provide the same atmospheric immersion for hard of hearing people.

Feltech’s Inesh Patel describes the installation “Numerous systems were installed in an open museum area which housed several exhibits that included video with speech… Loops were required for all exhibits that included speech”. He continues, “Five CLD1-AC’s were installed in a central rack with each individual loop being distributed to the relevant Exhibit area in the space.”

The final results have received much praise with museum Director Amelia Foster giving special thanks to everybody involved “We are very grateful to the many people who have helped this project come to fruition”. Inesh Patel said that Ampetronic equipment was chosen because we are “Tried and trusted” – this coming from a company that was AV Award 2013 winner is a fantastic endorsement.
