St. Mauritius Church in Berg, Switzerland is a historic place of worship with medieval origins and a strong commitment to welcoming all members of its community. To strengthen accessibility while respecting the building’s character, the parish implemented a dual technology assistive listening solution that serves telecoil users today and prepares the venue for Auracast™ audio in the future.
Challenge
The church needed an assistive listening system that delivers consistent speech clarity throughout the seating area for visitors using telecoil enabled hearing aids, while also creating a future ready path for people using Auracast-enabled hearing aids and listening devices. The solution had to integrate discreetly in a heritage environment and be designed for long term reliability, straightforward maintenance, and dependable support.
Solution
The installation combines an Ampetronic C10 1N hearing loop driver with an Auri TX2N Auracast™ broadcast transmitter, powered by Ampetronic | Listen Technologies.
This approach provides two complementary accessibility options:
- Induction loop coverage for telecoil users, delivering clear audio directly into hearing aids and cochlear implant processors with a T coil.
- Auracast™ broadcast audio to support emerging compatible hearing devices and receivers, helping the venue remain accessible as listening preferences evolve.
During installation, the team carried out precise measurements and verification to achieve uniform magnetic field strength and strong speech intelligibility across the listening area.
The system was installed by muribaer sa with close coordination between the installer, the project lead, and Ampetronic engineering support to ensure the solution was commissioned, tested, and documented for lasting performance.
The final setup also ensures the equipment remains readily accessible for routine checks, maintenance, and ongoing support.
“From commissioning to handover, our support team worked closely with the installer to ensure the system was configured, tested, and fully documented. Pairing the Ampetronic C10‑1N with the Auri TX2N allows the system to deliver inclusive audio access for all users.”
Rob Bartlam, Customer Support Manager, Ampetronic | Listen Technologies
Result
The completed installation is a benchmark of audio inclusivity, it delivers immediate benefit for telecoil users via the hearing loop and provides a clear path to Auracast™ assistive listening as more hearing aids and listening devices adopt Auracast™ broadcast audio.
With commissioning verification and documentation in place, the church now has a robust, standards‑aligned assistive listening system that is reliable in daily operation, easy to maintain and support.
