Audio induction loop systems – assisted listening and hearing devices

Ampetronic software tools

Ampetronic has developed several bespoke software packages to assist in designing induction loop systems. The four described here are in daily use to help our customers get their loops right first time every time.

LOOPS

For over 10 years our proprietary ‘Loops’ package has allowed us to investigate loop layouts for all possible geometries and phase shifts. Loops is a highly complex but very versatile package for the design of complex systems, used to design and model every one of our in-house designs (request a design). In particular Loops allows us to investigate the interaction between loops of different phases, typically used for arrays – to learn about arrays have a look at our pages on loop types.

P-LOOP DESIGN

Loops Loops

A quick simple tool to output a perimeter loop design.

Restricted to rectangular horizontal loops, P-Loop Design models magnetic fields created by a loop, taking into account:

  • Size and aspect ratio of the room
  • Height of the loop and the listening plane
  • Number of loop turns
  • Length of cable between amplifier and loop
  • Cable type
  • Maximum power bandwidth
  • Typical metal structures in building

The software plots a model of the magnetic fields, selects an amplifier and shows performance with all Ampetronic amplifiers, and gives basic performance and quantitative data for the loop system.

P-Loop Design is a quick and simple tool that is used for quick free quotes for our customers, by Ampetronic and by many of our Distributors.

ARRAY DESIGN

Loops Loops

Loops Loops

A quick simple tool to output an array design for large areas, reduction of spill or control of metal loss.

Restricted to rectangular horizontal rooms, Array Design models magnetic fields created by a loop, taking into account:

  • Size and aspect ratio of the room
  • Height of the loop and the listening plane
  • Length of cable between amplifier and loop
  • Cable type
  • Maximum power bandwidth
  • Typical metal structures in building

In addition, Array Design gives several parameters to control the size and overlap of array segments to optimise the magnetic field and the layout for your installation.

The software plots a model of the magnetic fields, selects an amplifier pair and shows performance with all Ampetronic amplifiers, and gives basic performance and quantitative data for the loop system.

The software also outputs layout drawings for the two parts of the array, and coordinate data to make installation easy.

Array Design is a quick and simple tool that is used for quick free quotes for our customers, by Ampetronic and by many of our Distributors.

VA CALCULATOR

Excel based tool for detailed calculation of impedance, voltage, current and many other characteristics for a loop system, used for careful specification of all of our in-house designed loop systems.
